Backcountry Therapeutics, LLC was started in Feb 2012 with offering Occupational Therapy to kids in their homes and in a small rented clinic/pool. We have since grown to have 20 therapists between Occupational, Physical and Speech therapy and our own 9,600 square foot facility solely for pediatrics. We began the aquatics program in 2012, the Equine-Assisted therapy in 2015, and the Teletherapy program in 2020. We also added the community focused treatments in 2012 to be able to implement what we practice in the clinic in real life settings like shopping, library, ordering food, money management, etc..
Our Philosophy and Mission
We recognize that no two children are the same and for that we strive to offer multiple treatment options and multiple therapists to make sure your child has the best fit. We started with the goal to be able to offer the kids of the Mat-Su valley, with varying diagnosis, a variety of treatment environments so that every child has the best possible chance at achieving their goals and independence.
We understand that therapy does not stop when you leave the clinic, so we put emphasis on families being able to get in contact with a therapist at all times to help with the carry-over of treatments from clinic to home. We also offer in home care for immune compromised kids whom going out into the community is not an option. In home based care we also use it for bridging treatments from the clinic into the home for situations needing behavioral modifications and behavioral plans at home.
We value our families and clients, and always strive for a family style atmosphere that promotes safety, growth, and promotes healthy, positive, and supportive relationships between therapist, child, and families. Our therapists invest hundreds of hours a year into your child’s care, treatment planning, and time spent striving to provide the best possible care.

We offer flexible and affordable options, from private pay to major insurance providers that include but are not limited to: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Premera, Aetna, Cigna, EBMS, Tricare, etc. We do accept Medicaid.
